On Friday, I leave to go on a 12 day tour of New Zealand along with one of my sisters. It will be the first time I've seen the country of my birth. How is that possible? Well, I was adopted as an infant by American parents. My adoptive father was in the USMC and was part of the Marine detachment assigned to the US embassy. We returned to the US when I was around one year old. I've thought of this day for many years and now after two years of planning, it is finally going to happen. To say I'm excited would be an understatement. Expect to see lots of pictures posted upon my return.

As a bonus, maybe I'll run into Frodo and Samwise.
